This piece is set in an alpine meadow in Colorado.  It was a place I pitched my tent after the sun had set, after a grueling hike.  I startled a herd of mule deer when I crept out without a headlamp for a bio-break in the wee hours.  And, when I poked my head out the following morning, this is something like what I saw!  A community of vibrant colored blooms, many of which I knew to be poison plants.
