If I were to paint a tarot deck of our planetary systems and landscapes, this would be the world card.  Mule deer guard the mountain, whichis both loved and harmed by humans.  Geese migrate, and a seedbelt circles through space.  Oaks anchor us across every continent.  The water cycle flows forever from spring to ocean to air, moistening our forest floor and our coastal wetlands all along the way.  Mangroves mediate between the land and sea, and offer haven for growing water beings.  Our hearts break to see so many of our kin nearly leaving us, unable to cope with the world we've been shaping...vaquita porpoise, corals, and many saltmarsh plants among them.  We are not so different, we whose bodies carry rivers of blood, from those whose bodies carry rivers of sap.  Blood and chlorophyll are only the difference between a magnesium ion and an iron ion, after all.  We are all connected via our lineage from and to the same planet.  We sing for the return of a vital earthen community--for the uplifting of the more-than-human world.
